Super special Nagpanchami Celebration at Heritage International School with snakes and snake friends

On the auspicious occasion of Nagpanchami, Heritage International School organized a grand celebration to honor the tradition and significance of this festival. On this occasion student from lower grade to std 10 celebrated nNag Panchami by participating in various activities like clay modelling, mehndi tattoo competition, PPT presentation about snakes and facts.




The main attraction of the Nag panchmi celebration was an awareness session about snakes , graced by the presence of Mr. Sharad Gund, a well-known snake friend and wildlife conservationist, who has dedicated his life to the protection and preservation of snakes and other wildlife from past 48 years.


The celebration began with a traditional puja ceremony, where students and staff offered prayers to the snake deity, seeking blessings for the well-being and prosperity of all. The school was beautifully decorated with colorful rangoli, flowers, and posters depicting the importance of Nagpanchami in Indian culture.




Mr. Sharad Gund took the stage and captivated the audience with his insightful talk on the significance of snakes in the ecosystem. He shared fascinating facts about different species of snakes found in India and emphasized the need for their conservation. Mr. Gund also addressed common myths and misconceptions about snakes, educating the students on how to coexist peacefully with these often-misunderstood creatures.




To make the event more engaging, Mr. Gund brought along explaining venomous semi venomous snakes information with pictures, even he brought a few non-venomous snakes, allowing the students to observe them closely. He demonstrated how to handle snakes safely and explained their behavior in detail. The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to interact with the snakes, and many of them overcame their fear, appreciating the beauty and importance of these creatures.





This program was held in the presence of Mr. Krishna Bhilare (Founder, President), Mrs. Sangeeta Bhilare (Secretary),Director Mr Kunal Bhilare , Admin manager Mrs Yashaswini Bhilare and staff.

Principal Dr Renu Patil expressed that it was knowledgeable session by Mr. Sharad Gund Sir and for his enlightening session student council members donated good amount collected from students to help Snake friends to look after the injured snakes and to save them and even save the people from Snakes bite. Principal also encouraged the students to spread awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation and to respect all forms of life.




The Nagpanchami celebration at Heritage International School was a memorable and educational experience for everyone involved, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for nature and its inhabitants, stay away from any superstitions about snakes. ‘Snakes are man’s friends, not foes’
