Heritage International School, Kasar Amboli, celebrated National Sports Day with great excitement and dedication on August 29, 2024. This day, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand was marked by a series of sports events and activities aimed at promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship among students.

The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of sports and physical activities. Schools, colleges, and institutions nationwide organize sports events, competitions, and fitness activities to mark the occasion. The government also awards sports personalities with prestigious awards like the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award, and Dronacharya Award on this day to recognize their contributions to Indian sports.

The Principal Dr. Renu Patil conveyed that sports coaches emphasized the importance of sports in the overall development of an individual. He highlighted Major Dhyan Chand's contributions to Indian hockey and encouraged students to draw inspiration from his dedication and achievements The event featured a variety of sports competitions, including kabaddi, kho-kho, dodgeball and other traditional games. Students from all grades actively participated, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. The school grounds buzzed with excitement as students cheered for their peers and participated in friendly matches.

Furthermore to highlight Major Dhyan Chand's contributions to Indian hockey and encourage students to draw inspiration from his dedication and achievements, videos related to Major Dhyan Chand and various sports were shown to the elder classes. It provides them with valuable insights into the history and significance of sports in India.
