Heritage International School Hosts Workshop on Cyber Security and Child Safety

Pune, November 14, 2024, In today’s digital era, where online connectivity has become an integral part of life, the need for cyber security and child safety education has never been more critical. Heritage International School, KasarAmboli, Pune, took a significant step in this direction by organizing an enlightening workshop on Cyber Security and Child Safety for students from Grades 7 to 10. This initiative aligns with Child Safety Week, which runs from November 14 to November 20, marking the sixth edition of the awareness campaign.

The school invited Dr. Sachin Mohan Bhide, the founder and strategy designer of Eha Management and Consultancy, as the resource person. With over two decades of experience and more than 40 successful consulting projects, Dr. Bhide’s expertise in marketing strategy and cyber safety was invaluable to the students. His session on “Child Safety and Cyber Security” explored the latest cyber threats, real-life case studies on cyber-attacks, and effective ways to secure oneself online.

Dr Bhide engaged students with practical insights on cyber hygiene, safe internet use, and identifying fraudulent websites and applications. Dr. Renu Patil, Principal of Heritage International School, emphasized the importance of child safety, stating, “Children are the most vulnerable members of society. They must be protected from all forms of harm, including digital threats.” Dr. Patil also shared real-life examples of cyber crimes and offered guidance to the students on how to protect themselves.

The workshop concluded with feedback from students, who expressed appreciation for the session and pledged to practice responsible digital habits.
